The Alerus Commission agreed today to enter into negotiations with Spectra for management of the events center building. The two sides are hoping to complete the deal in May. Events Center Commission Chair Julie Rygg says the two sides will likely negotiate a contract with a set sum payment – plus incentives. The incentives will be tied to new growth...events...and revenues.Spectra was selected for the job after presenting a strong case for marketing and sales. S-M-G…VenuWorks…and the Ballantine Group also expressed interest.
The management of the events center building has been in flux since the dismissal of Cheryl Swanson late last year.
