The grand forks growth fund will consider a 250-thousand dollar loan next week to help purchase land for a proposed one-point-five billion dollar nitrogen fertilizer plant west of the city. Northern plains nitrogen is looking to buy 320 acres near the city’s wastewater ponds. According to a staff report the purchase price for the parcel in question is one-point-seven million dollars. northern plains will also utilize an 850-thousand dollar bank loan…350-thousand in investor equity…and 250-thousand from the north Dakota development fund to seal the deal. The committee will consider the loan request on wednesday and schedule a public hearing before the j-d-a on October 21st.
