Growth fund dollars target beer and data

A new downtown business is looking to tap into a start-up loan to help bring a self-pour craft beer and wine establishment to Grand Forks.  The Grand Forks Growth Fund has approved a $30,000 low interest loan to Taproom Brew Hall to assist in the fit-up of space at 13 North 3rd Street.  The business would be located in the old Caulfield Studios space and feature a mix of 30 craft beers and wines.  Customers would be charged per ounce allowing patrons to sample a variety of flavors – or pour a pint of a single brew.

The Growth Fund Committee also O-K’d a PACE loan for Core Scientific.  The Washington-based computer processing company plans to locate in the industrial park.  The $269,000 dollar loan will help secure a $500,000 dollar Bank of North Dakota loan and buy-down interest on a $6.8 million dollar private loan.

Both recommendations will be reviewed by the city council – meeting as the JDA – on June 7th.
