Grand forks police are asking the public for help in an ongoing investigation regarding a fight in the downtown area back on june 9th. Authorities say the fight occurred shortly before two a-m near the intersection of demers and north third street. Police say a 21-year old Mayville resident was hospitalized with injuries. Through witness interviews investigators have learned that multiple people either recorded the event or took photos as it was happening on their telephones. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact the g-f-p-d at 787-8000.
Grand forks police have two suspects in custody in connection with a robbery at the budget inn early wednesday morning. Authorities were called to the motel on gateway drive around two a-m. as a result of the investigation two suspects were identified and arrested. Police identified the pair as 22-year old juan esteban Munoz ciro and 29-year old alberto Hernandez both from Colorado. They were booked into the grand forks correctional center on a felony robbery charge.
A 27-year year old grand forks man was arrested tuesday after barricading himself inside a home. Police say they were dispatched to the four-thousand block of irongate court for a domestic dispute shortly before ten p-m. when officers arrived the suspect refused to come out. The p-d’s swat team and crisis negotiation unit was dispatched to the scene. A short time later the suspect came out without incident. He was identified as doug bergman-jr. bergman was cited for a warrant and violation of a protection order. No one was injured in the incident.
