What drives tourists north of the border to grand forks? According to a 2014 visitor survey shopping still tops the list. The survey says the average Canadian tourist visits the city more than once a year and usually for a two night stay. when it comes to spending 32-percent of respondents say they plunk down between 250 and 500 dollars per visit…22-percent will spend between 500 and 750…and 36-percent in excess of 750 dollars.
Julie rygg of the greater grand forks convention and visitors bureau says despite a widening gap in the exchange rate it fell behind price… selection… and lodging as reasons not to visit grand forks.
