The grand forks park board has installed bill palmascino as the new executive director of the park district. He will take over for john staley who officially retired at today’s special board meeting. The 64-year old staley first joined the park district in 1974 and informed the board that he wanted to step down this year. In prepared remarks staley says the time is right to move forward with retirement adding he feels good about the position the park district is in right now. Palmascino has been with the park district for 39 years.
Staley will continue to lead the park and recreation foundation as a board member through the end of the year.
