A committee charged with making a recommendation about the future of the grand forks library is asking the public for input as it moves forward. The library working group is asking residents to complete a survey about the library – including whether they support remodeling the library or building a new one. a survey of the 14 committee members found a majority favor building new. Library director wendy wendt anticipates the group coming back with some recommendations for the library board to look at this fall.
The survey has been available on the library’s web site in recent days and hard copies are being made available at the library this week. it also seeks answers as to what the priorities should be for the library…the growth in e-books…programs…and access to computers. Wendt says the library’s 52 computers were used 93-thousand-272 times in 2012. a meeting to discuss library needs is set for july 11th in the grand forks council chambers.
