DO YOU FEEL SAFE RIDING A BIKE AROUND TOWN?  GRAND FORKS IS LOOKING AT A PLAN TO INCORPORATE BIKE SHARROWS ON   UNIVERSITY AVENUE FROM COLUMBIA ROAD TO THE DOWNTOWN.   THE SHARROWS ARE MARKINGS AND SIGNAGE THAT INFORMS A BICYCLIST THEY ARE SHARING THE ROAD WITH VEHICLES AND VICE-VERSA.  COUNCILMAN TYRONNE GRANDSTRAND SAYS PERHAPS A DEDICATED BIKE LANE WOULD OFFER MORE SAFETY.  CRITICS SAY BIKE LANES WOULD REDUCE LANE WIDTHS AND GIVE BIKERS A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY.  THE CITY'S SAFTY-SERVICE COMMITTEE WILL DISCUSS THE ISSUE FURTHER IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.  THE COST FOR SHARROW MARKINGS AND SIGNAGE IS AROUND 52 HUNDRED DOLLARS.
