A drug bust has netted the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department seven-and-half pounds of pot. Sheriff Bob Rost says a K-9 unit was deployed to sniff out the drugs when the Amtrak train made an early morning stop in Grand Forks. Amtrak’s Empire Builder was bound for the Twin Cities from Portland (OR). The SO and U-S Border Patrol received information of a suspicious person on board. After the K-9 team hit on two pieces of luggage the individual who claimed the bags consented to a search. The suspect was identified as 22-year old Andrew Sorenson of Portland (OR)). The marijuana carried a street value of around 44-thousand dollars.
