The city of Grand Forks will begin having discussions about what if any amenities it would like to see included in the upcoming rehab of the Kennedy and Sorlie bridges. Assistant City Engineer Mark Walker says as it stands now work on the Kennedy would begin in 2016 and actual construction on the Sorlie is scheduled for 2018. Walker says it’s appropriate to begin talking now about “signature features” the two cities would like to see added to the two projects. Those could include everything from dramatic lighting to signage.
Walker says those discussions will include who and how such items would be paid for.
A working group is tentatively scheduled to start those discussions this week.
